"During my first year of college, a teacher and mentor of mine asked me to pick one word to describe my passion in life.
I chose "create".
I am passionate about creating music, memories, friendships, laughter, love, kindness, art, delicious food...
that word just fits with so many things that bring me so much joy!

Since then, I've been able to turn that love for creating into so much more. I
try to make my Instagram/shop/website a place where I can share my passion
for design and art in a way that encourages joy and kindness.
I'm *this close* to opening my shop and I couldn't be more grateful for supportive friends
like Ali who have helped me turn this dream into a reality!"

"I'm Brooklyn, aka That Shampoo Girl! 💜 I help women
(& men!) get the best hair of their life using naturally-based hair care
that has a 30 day money back guarantee."

Emily, Karen, and Wendy!

"We are 3 sisters who love spending time with each other.
As we started having kids and were all closer together we started getting together
once a week to create things for ourselves.
Many people loved the items we made so we decided to start selling our decor.
We have been working together to sell at boutiques for over a year and love pleasing our customers and meeting new people!"

"Hello! My name is Cara and my husband Justin (commonly referred to as J on my blog)
just moved from Arizona to Portland, Oregon.

I've always had a love for blogging, mainly because it's my primary way of journaling.
After moving, I decided to give my blog a mini facelift
and instead of blogging about my day to day happenings,
I blog about all the fun things to do in and around Portland.
I hope by doing this it helps convince those I love that they need to visit us often
but I hope it's a great resource for anyone that has a desire to discover
the Pacific Northwest and gain insight on what to do,
where to eat, and how to budget for it all.

A little background on J and I...

This month (April) we will be celebrating 6 years of marriage!
And to think it all resulted from a lost bet -- yep you heard right.
We had a group of common friends and during a Friday night out bowling,
J bet that he could beat me in bowling and the wages were if I lost I had to go on a date with him. Little did I know J was a part of a bowling league growing up so
I really had no chance at winning this.

Through these last 6 years we've had insurmountable joy and devastating loses.
We travel when we can, binge watch TV shows on Netflix or Hulu,
and enjoy a good old card game of canasta.
No kids yet however I think we finally feel ready to be dog parents!
We've supported each other through school -- I
received a Master's in Psychology and J just finished his graduate program
at Thunderbird School of Global Management.
We spent this past summer (2016) apart
as J accepted internships that took him to Lima, Peru and Portland, Oregon.

At the end of J's internship, he was offered to come back and work
in Portland when he graduated in December (2016).
3 weeks before we were to move to Portland,
after I had accepted a new job position -- we got the devastating news that the company J was to work for was going another direction
and they were recanting the employment offer made previously.

We experienced a lot of emotions during those final weeks in December.
We felt very lost on what to do.
Through lots of prayer we felt the strong prompting that we needed
to make the move to Portland anyways and that it would "all work out".
So here we are -- it still hasn't worked out,
at least not on our timetable but I know God has a plan for us
and I have to just trust in that.
Is that easy? Heck no!
Daily we have doubts -- we cry when company's pass on J --
we are lonely without our family and friends --
and we stress about what will happen when our savings runs out.
Through all these concerns we've chosen to pull closer as a couple and have faith in the process.
If you want to follow along on our journey as we discover our new city I would love to have you."
