Drag races with my Daddy ;)

Heck yes!!! FLAMES!

Funny cars (no srsly, that's what they're called)

My cute dad ;)

Oh how I wish it were mine! :(

Me with my earplugs yep!

Last Saturday my dad and I went to the dragraces at Firebird Raceway in Chandler. It was SOOOOOO amazing! I hadn't been to a race in 7 years and this was just awesome to be back in the bleachers listening to the loud engines roaring and making the stands vibrate ;) The smell of nitro in the air and watching the Christmas tree. I loved it so much! Plus it was a great time to spend with my dad, we haven't really been able to do a lot of stuff together because we're both so busy but this was an awesome thing that we got to do together. We both love the adrenaline of watching the drivers speed down the track (and just so we're ll clear, this is NOT Nascar where they go around and around in a circle-negative! This is racing where they go down a straight track in about 3-6 seconds) and the flames erupt from the sides of the engine (and this is normal-it's when they come out the front or back that's bad). It's always been a little dream of mine to race and it'd still be wy cool to do but that requires so much money and time that I don't know if I can commit to that anyways. But it's always a fun dream to have in the back of my mind ;)

I had so much fun with my dad and I really hope we can start making this a yearly thing ;) And when I get maried, my husband will have to be ok with either going with me to the races or ok with me going with my dad ;) (I'm hoping for more of the first rather but I'm cool with whatev)

Masquerade!! Paper Faces on Parade

Hide your face so the world will never find you! Masquerade! Every face a different shade masquerade, look around there's another mask behind you.....etc etc. I love that song! Just want to put that out there on the table hahaha. This past Friday the theater group my youngest brother is involved with (the older one did too but he's too "cool" now to do it anymore) held their First Annual Masquerade Ball at the Women's Club in downtown Mesa and it was a HUGE success! Seeing all these brilliant actors perform was amazing, although I had already seen all of the acts that were performed there was a magic there that I can't really do justice to unless you were there. All guests were required to wear formal dresses/tuxes and it was truly a beautiful evening for all who attended.

I haven't ever performed with these actors before but I know most of them and we're like a big family and listening to the musical numbers and watching the skit just brought back so many memories of when I was invlved in theater on the acting side of the curtain and yeah it made me want to just get out there and do it but in my heart of hearts I know that that's just not for me to do. I love to sing but I don't think I can base a living on my voice (and definitely not my lack of dancing skills), though I will sing for myself because it is a passion of mine ;) And yes, musicals always make me super happy and I pretty much can guarentee tears at every opening and closing number of a show. I even cry during the curtain calls (please someone evaluate that hahahahaha). But even though these shows hold such magic for me, I like being on the side of stage where I get to help make the show. I get to see the actors transform into their characters and hear their voices sing in such amazing harmonies. At the Masquerade, they performed 3 of my absolute favorite songs form the shows AYT has done: Dance of the Robe, Written in the Stars, and Part of the Human Heart. (The shows are Aida and Once on This Island) Yes I cried through al three of these but I got to sing Part of the Human Heart along with the actors and all the guests who knew the song. That was the most magical part of the night for me. Hearing all the voices from all over the room singing in one voice along with the lead singer of the song, just made my heart so full and I couldn't think why. Still can't come to think of it.

The people behind theater, and movies too, but mostly theater are such magicians and wizards. They truly capture the mind and help audiences escape reality for a couple of hours and fall in love with characters they relate to, pity, love, etc. and I want to be a part of that magic. To enchant others to see the beauty of theater. And of course, I can't wait til next year's Masquerade and see what surprises are in store for the guests there ;)

Uncharted Waters

So for the past several months I've been saying that I'm gonna go to Disneyland for an internship but now I'm thinking not so much. I'm not chickening out, so rule that out right away lol. I just don't feel the need to go anymore. I feel like there's something I need to be doing here although I have no idea what. Any ideas would be most helpful ;) I'm going to get more involved with the brother's acting group, help my other brother get into college, and hopefully buy a car. A car is the definite next goal hahahaha. And now that I have a steady job for now I can think about it. After the car, it's time to move out but the car's gonna have to be very cheap hahahaha. I feel so good since I decided not to go to California. I have no idea why I'm not supposed to go but then again, the Lord works in mysterious ways and I might not know til years later but I'm glad that I can feel the Spirit strong enough to know what the Lord wants me to do. It's exhilarating.

After going through my first training day of my new job I'm sad that the lady I'm replacing has to leave but thanks to her, a door opened for me and for that I'm so happy. I couldn't be more grateful for all that I've been given and all of the opportunities I have in my life and still have more to come ;)

Uncharted waters is where I am now only because my life isn't written down in stone and I get to be flexible and it's kinda exciting and freeing.I'm excited to see where my life takes me.
